With over 35 years of experience, Ira is an expert in the planning, design and construction of private real estate developments. He has worked extensively on a broad range of retail, office, adaptive reuse and historic preservation projects. As Principal at db2/ARCHitecture, Inc., Ira is responsible for planning and executing a variety of commercial, retail, and residential projects. He assists clients in the strategic planning of real estate developments and provides leasing support to landlords and tenants planning new suburban shopping centers. His recent projects include Silver City Galleria in Taunton, MA, Middlesex Marketplace in Burlington, MA, Main Street Marketplace in Waltham, MA, 27 Drydock Avenue in Boston, MA, and Bedford Place in Bedford, MA.
Before joining db2 in 2011, Ira served as a Senior Associate at Bergmeyer Associates, Inc. in Boston for 25 years where he specialized in the strategic planning of real estate developments and assisted in developing the use of Building Information Modeling and Integrated Project Delivery methods. His projects included a large collection of shopping centers and housing complexes in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Ira's previous experience also includes the role of Architect for 8 years at Eisenberg/Haven Associates in Boston where he managed and executed an assortment of residential projects. These projects included market rate and affordable multifamily residential developments in new construction and adaptive reuse of historic schools and mills throughout New England.
Ira enjoys guiding his team of Architects, Project Managers, and Designers from the planning and development phase through construction detailing and administration. Ira takes pride in the long relationships he's maintained with many commercial and private developers throughout his career.
